- 1). Lay the siding face-down on a pair of saw horses or extending over the edge of a work table. Mark the line you want to cut in pencil.
- 2). Hold the shears at an angle to the siding with the edge of the siding between the scissor-like blades. Cut on the outside of the line, since the shears will remove a kerf about 1/4 inch wide as they cut.
- 3). Press the trigger and slide the shears forward as they cut the siding. Release the trigger when you reach the end of the cut.
- 4). Smooth the cut edge if necessary by running your hand along it.
