- 1). Apply a few drops of dry cleaning solvent to an inconspicuous part of the clothing. Rub the solvent immediately with a clean, white towel and if any color transfers to the towel do not use this cleaner. Consult a professional dry cleaner to prevent damaging the clothing.
- 2). Place the stained garment on a thick towel.
- 3). Apply dry cleaning solvent to a sponge and dab at the chocolate stain. The stain should fade as you continue to apply the dry cleaning solvent. Do not scrub the stain as that may force it deeper into the cloth fibers.
- 4). Mix 1 tsp. of liquid dish detergent and two to three drops of ammonia in a cup of warm water if the stain persists.
- 5). Apply a few drops of the soapy water at a time to the stain. Continue to dab at the stain with the sponge to remove the stain.
- 6). Rinse the article of clothing with water to thoroughly remove all traces of the cleaners. If the stain is gone, launder the clothing as you normally would.
- 7). Add two to three drops of ammonia to 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide.
- 8). Apply a few drops of the mixture to the stain and gently blot it with a clean sponge until the stain is removed.
- 9). Rinse the clothing with water to remove the hydrogen peroxide and ammonia.
