- 1). Install and open EAC if you haven't already. The program is free to download and installation is just a matter of clicking "Next" a few times. The actual configuration comes later.
- 2). Connect to the Internet. This allows EAC to retrieve your CD information.
- 3). Insert the CD you want to rip into your computer. Wait for EAC to find the album information.
- 4). Check the "Various Artists" box in the upper right-hand corner if the CD has multiple artists.
- 5). Select "Detect Gaps" from the "Action" menu. This allows EAC to find the spaces between the tracks, if there are any.
- 6). Select all the tracks. You can do this by clicking the first one, then holding down SHIFT as you click the last.
- 7). Select "Test and Copy Selected Tracks" from the "Action" menu.
- 8). Select "Uncompressed" for a lossless FLAC or WAV file or "Compressed" for a lossy MP3.
- 9). Wait until both progress bars complete. This will likely take at least 10 minutes.
