- 1). Open the package or container for the ink cartridge. Take the cartridge out of the package and peel off the protective tape that covers the contacts.
- 2). Open the front cover and wait for the cartridge carrier for the ink to move to the center of the unit; this is the “loading” position.
- 3). Lift up the plastic cover for the ink carrier. If you are replacing more than one ink cartridge open each of the carrier covers.
- 4). Lift the old ink cartridge up and remove it from the carrier. Repeat this step if you need to remove the other ink cartridge.
- 5). Insert the new ink cartridge into the carrier. Make sure the metal contacts are facing down when you place the cartridge in the carrier. Press down until you hear a snap sound. This indicates that the ink cartridge has been secured in the carrier. Repeat this step for the other ink cartridge.
- 6). Close the front cover to complete the task. The new ink cartridges will be automatically aligned when the cover is closed.
