Windows Vista

• 1). Right-click the desktop and click "Personalize." As an alternative, click the "Start" button, click "Control Panel," click "Appearance and Personalization" and then click "Personalization."
  
  
• 2). Click "Screen saver" to enter the screen saver properties. If your screen saver is set to require a password, the "On resume, require logon" box will be checked.
  
  
• 3). Click "On resume, require logon" to uncheck the box and disable the login prompt.
  
  
• 4). Click "Apply" and then click "OK" to close the screen saver window.
  
  

Windows XP

• 1). Right-click the desktop, click "Properties" and then click the "Screen Saver" tab. As an alternative, click the "Start" button to go into the control panel, double-click "Display" and then click "Screen Saver."
  
  
• 2). Click to uncheck the "On resume, password protect" box next to "Wait" to disable the login prompt.
  
  
• 3). Click "Apply" and then "OK" to close the window.
  
  

Windows ME/2000 (and earlier)

• 1). Right-click the desktop, click "Properties" and then click "Screen Saver." As an alternative, click "Start," go to Settings and double-click on "Display" before you click on "Screen Saver."
  
  
• 2). Click to uncheck the "Password Protected" box next to the "Wait" time box.
  
  
• 3). Click "Apply" to confirm changes and then "OK" to close the window.
