    Automatically Import All Pictures

    • 1). Connect the external card reader to your computer using the cable supplied by the manufacturer, if necessary. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on how to install the card reader if you haven't already done so.

    • 2). Insert the SD card into your card reader. The auto-play window appears.

    • 3). Click the "Import Pictures and Videos Using Windows" option from the dialog box. The "Import Pictures and Videos" dialog box appears.

    • 4). Click "Import Settings" in the lower left corner of the screen. By default, Windows imports all images to the "My Pictures" folder. If you'd like to import them to a different location, click the "Browse" button located beside the "Import Images To" field and select the desired folder.

    • 5). Click the drop-down arrows beside "Folder Name" and "File Name" to select the way you want Windows to name the folder created to store the imported pictures and the way you want to name the actual imported images.

    • 6). Click to select or deselect the check boxes located under "Other Options."

    • 7). Click "OK" to save your settings and return to the "Import" dialog box. If you would like to undo your changes and return to the default settings, click the "Restore Defaults" button before clicking "OK."

    • 8). Type a tag for the pictures, if desired. For example, type "First Birthday" for pictures taken at your child's first birthday party. Windows will apply this tag to all the pictures you import at this time according to your import settings you previously set.

    • 9). Click the "Import" button on the lower right corner of the screen to import the pictures.
