- 1). Click the Windows "Start" button on the computer you want to set up as an Internet server. Select "Control Panel," then click "System and Maintenance." Click "Administrative Tools." Double-click "Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager" to open the console.
- 2). Right-click your server name and select "New," then "Add Web Site." This opens a wizard to create your site. Click "Next" on the first welcome window. Type a name and description for your site on the next window. Click "Next."
- 3). Leave the default application pool and enter a physical location for the website files. Since this website is a forwarded site, the folder does not need files uploaded, so you can point to an empty folder. Click "Next."
- 4). Type a site's Internet protocol (IP) address and enter a port. For most websites, the port number is 80. Click "Next." Click "OK" on the final window to set up the Internet server. Although the site is created, it still needs the forwarding settings.
- 5). Click the newly created site on the left pane. Double-click "HTTP Redirect" to open a configuration window. Select "Redirect all requests to exact destination (instead of relative to destination)" and enter a site address for the HTTP port. This forwards your website to the other site address using the HTTP port 80.
