- 1). Rub the metal surface with metal sandpaper to give the surface texture.
- 2). Wipe down the surfaces of both the metal and rubber with the soft cloth to remove dirt and dust.
- 3). Apply the glue to both the rubber and metal surface in a thin layer. Use a glue, such as Amazing Goop, that is designed for adhering rubber and metal. Allow the glue to set for two to 10 minutes before placing the items together.
- 4). Place the rubber and metal items together where you applied the glue. Take care to make the placement precise because you may not be able to reposition the items.
- 5). Clamp the items with the C-clamps to hold them, if you desire.
- 6). Allow the rubber and metal items to dry for at least 24 hours and up to 72 hours before using. Remove the C-clamps after the glue is secure.
