- 1). Put on the rubber gloves and combine one part sodium citrate crystals to six parts water and six parts glycerin in a bowl, and mix with a metal spoon.
- 2). Add enough whiting to form a paste stiff enough to stick to the surface of your floor in a thick coat. Apply this compound to the stained area, going approximately 1/2 inch over on all sides of the stain. Keep the paste at least 1/4 inch thick.
- 3). Cover the compound with a square of plastic wrap, and secure it to the floor with masking tape.
- 4). Leave the compound alone for at least 24 hours, then remove the plastic wrap (wearing your rubber gloves for the removal).
- 5). Let the paste sit uncovered for another couple of days.
- 6). Put on your gloves, scrape the compound off the surface of your floor using a plastic spatula and wipe it dry with a paper towel.
- 7). Repeat the process, if necessary, until the stain disappears.
