- 1). Unplug your computer. Wires connected to your computer will not only get in the way but can be an electrical hazard. Make sure all wires are unplugged from your computer before proceeding.
- 2). Unscrew the computer case. Most computers have a side of the case that will simply slide off after you unscrew it. If your computer does not have a sliding side, Brightbulb.com recommends looking for screws in the back of the computer, around the edges. The case of your computer may slide off in a single piece.
- 3). Locate and remove the logo cover. The logo cover should be in the front of your computer. The logo cover will come off with a little pressure or can be unscrewed. Remove the logo covering the LED light.
- 4). Remove the LED light. This is just like a regular light bulb except a lot smaller. You will either be able to remove it with a gentle tug or it will unscrew.
- 5). Match and exchange the LED light. Keep the LED light to find a matching light online or at your local computer store. Install the new LED light.
- 6). Put the computer back together. Reattach the logo cover over the light. Attach the case cover back onto the computer. Secure the screws if needed.
