- 1). Purchase a multipurpose adhesive remover such from a local home improvement center or hardware store. Leading brands such as GooGone, Un-Du, and Goof Off are chemical solvents that will safely dissolve glue from most surfaces, including glass.
- 2). Spray or pour the product onto a rag, using the amount according to the instructions on the label. Certain brands are also safe to apply directly onto the glass.
- 3). Allow the solution to set for the prescribed length of time once you've applied it to the bottle. Oftentimes, the product takes effect immediately and loosens the glue upon contact.
- 4). Use a microfiber cloth to wipe the wine bottle clean of the softened glue. Continue to apply as much of the adhesive remover as needed until all of the label glue has been lifted completely.
