- 1). Check the hose for leaks or kinks. Make sure there is no area where the air is escaping before reaching the end. Look to see if anything is sitting on the hose blocking the air flow.
- 2). Replace the air filter element. Check your owner's manual for the location of the air filter on your model. A clogged air filter can restrict the air intake, making it impossible for pressure to escape.
- 3). Tighten any belts that could be slipping. Check to see if any belt is broken or cracked. If you find breaks, replace the belts.
- 4). Use a larger hose. The service hose may be too small for the type of tool you are using. Replace the smaller hose with a larger one.
- 5). Check the tools you are using to make sure your air compressor is rated high enough to make them work effectively. Limit using tools that require excessive air pressure.
- 6). Watch for oil in the air. If you see oil make sure that the level is good. Also, use the air compressor on a flat surface to keep the oil level steady.
