- The Pavilion 551W is a desktop PC manufactured by Hewlett-Packard. It has been discontinued. The 551W is part of a PC bundle called the HP Pavilion 551w-b, which contains the PC itself, as well as a monitor. It is a member of the Pavilion 500 series of PCs. An early review of this series refers to its potential for versatility and productivity.
- The Pavilion 551w-b package contains the tower itself, as well an HP MX70 17-inch monitor. Also included are Polk Audio "F" speakers, an HP One Touch Internet keyboard and an HP mouse.
- The Pavilion 551W PC has a Pentium 4 CPU running at 1.6 gigahertz (GHz). It utilizes 128 megabytes (MB) of PC2100 DDR RAM, expandable to a maximum of 1 gigabyte (GB).
- The Pavilion 551W provides users with two options for display adapters. The first is an integrated chipset that shares memory with the rest of the system. The motherboard also possesses an AGP slot into which the user may put a dedicated video card. The PC uses an integrated AC97 chipset for audio playback.
- The Pavilion 551W comes with a 30 GB hard drive. Also included are a CD-RW drive and a 1.44 MB diskette drive.
- The Pavilion 551W provides users with a total of four USB ports, two located on the front panel and two on the back panel. The PC also has two serial ports and a parallel port. It also has two RAM DIMMs and three PCI slots.
- The Pavilion 551W comes with the Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition operating system. Included in this installation is a software suite with security applications, a CD burning application, reference applications, entertainment applications, finance applications, image applications and HP tools.
