- 1). Examine the backside of your TV and your Dell computer's ports to find which display port they share in common. HDMI ports will be rectangular-shaped and labelled "HDMI." S-video ports are circular, while DVI and VGA ports are rectangular in appearance -- DVI ports feature a grid of pins, while VGA ports are rhombus-shaped.
- 2). Use the corresponding cable to connect your Vizio TV and computer.
