- 1). Log in to the server that runs SQL Server.
- 2). Open the "Start" menu. Click "All Programs" followed by "SQL Server 2008" and "SQL Server 2008 - Settings."
- 3). Open the "Reporting format options" tab.
- 4). Click on the "Format" drop-down menu, and then select the "MDX" file format.
- 5). Click "Save and apply." Wait a few seconds for the SQL Server to apply the changes and automatically reboot.
