- 1). Select the proper disc burner from the "Burner" drop-down menu at the top of the Nero Burning ROM program window. Before you click the "Burn" button, you need to select the appropriate drive from this window. If you have selected the incorrect drive or Nero's built-in image burner, your project isn't going to be successfully transferred from your computer to the disc.
- 2). Verify that you're using the type of disc media that corresponds with the project you're trying to burn. When you start a new project in Nero, you are asked to specify whether you'll be working with a CD or a DVD. If you select DVD but then attempt to use a CD to burn the project, Nero isn't going to be able to complete its task. If you created a CD project, you need to put a blank CD in your burner. Likewise, if you created a DVD project, you need to put a blank DVD in your burner.
- 3). Make sure that you haven't filled your project too full. A standard blank CD can hold 700MB of information. A standard blank DVD can hold 4.7GB of information. If you attempt to put more files than that into your project, Nero won't be able to burn the disc. Use the Remaining Space meter at the bottom of your Nero project to make sure that you haven't filled your project with too many files and attempt to burn your project again.
