- 1). Press the button next to your disc drive to open the disc drawer. Insert a DVD into your computer's disc drive. Press the button again to close the drawer.
- 2). Click "Burn files to data disc" when the dialog box appears. A new "Burn a Disc" window will appear.
- 3). Type a name for the disc in the window. Click "Next". Vista will begin to format the disc. This may take a few minutes.
- 4). Click to open the folder that includes the files you want to place on the disc. Drag and drop the file or files from the folder onto the disc icon on your desktop. The files will be automatically placed on the disc.
- 5). Press the eject button next to the disc drive. You have now burned a DVD with Windows Vista.
