- 1). Position the radiator in its final position against the wall at the height that it will be installed. In some cases, this will involve placing some heightening devices underneath the radiator so that the couplings are even with the water pipes.
- 2). Draw a line on the wall at the top and sides of the radiator with a pencil.
- 3). Attach the brackets to the back of the radatior. Measure the distance from the top and the sides where the radiator screw holes are located.
- 4). Transfer the distances you measured on the back of the radiator to the wall. This will pinpoint your bracket holes.
- 5). Attach a drill bit to your drill. Drill the holes into the wall at the bracket screw points. Insert anchors into the holes.
- 6). Hold the bracket up on the wall, aligning it with the screw holes. Insert the screws through the radiator bracket and into the holes. Secure with the screws.
- 7). Hang the radiator on the bracket. Most radiators will slip into the bracket at a 45-degree angle. Once the radiator is horizontally aligned, push it down an additional inch or two to lock it into place.
- 8). Wrap the threads on the lock shield and wheel valves at the base of the radiator with plumber's tape. Screw the radiator couplings onto the threads and tighten with the pliers.
