We can all agree that when you go through a break up it can be a really challenging time.
The problem relates directly to the level of emotion that takes place during the breakup itself.
This makes it difficult to think clearly and in the heat of the moment we can often say things that later we wish we did not say.
This compounds the emotional problem and can make you feel even worse.
Based on this it is always wise to walk away from a heated argument.
Of course I do not know specifically why you are breaking up but if you want to get back with this person you are going to have to thread carefully.
You do not at this point want to rush to judgment or form irrational conclusions.
The first course of action is to allow some space so that you can think things out.
Then you will need to do some soul searching to find out what went wrong.
This is difficult to do alone as we ourselves can be biased, you may not see the other side of the argument as you are preoccupied with that you think is going on.
As a consequence it may be wise to talk it over with some close friends and if possible mutual friends to both you and your partner.
Doing this will enable you to get more objective information and by the way do not make it a secret that you want to get back with your ex, especially when discussing it with mutual friends.
Once you get at the root of the problem then you will need to come up with a strategy in order to overcome the challenge.
Lastly you need to be able to communicate with your ex, without communication you have nothing.
Once you do get the chance to talk you will need to start on a lighter note and there is nothing better than a little humor just to get the smiles going.
This will relieve tension and provide for a more open environment.
Once again remember to avoid emotional outbursts and make sure and listen, even if you hear things you do not like, let them talk.
Once you have done this do not feel that you have to resolve it then and there, end on a positive note, arrange another meeting, go home and figure out how best to move forward based on what you have discussed.
This approach will provide your ex with space and it also adds to your credibility when you return to the discussion with a resolution.
