Compaq N1000v Laptop Specifications

    Identification

    • The Compaq Evo N1000v measured 12.9 inches wide, 10.6 inches deep and 1.6 inches thick at its thickest point. Base versions of the laptop weighed 6.6 lbs. A removable, rechargeable 3900-mAh lithium-ion battery provided on-board power to the laptop. An external 90-watt AC adapter supplied external power. Additional identifying features included a full-sized, 102-key keyboard and an integrated touch pad with four-way scrolling capability.

    Processor, Memory, Storage

    • HP equipped the Compaq Evo N1000v with an Intel Pentium 4 processor. The processor featured a maximum clock speed of 2.2 GHz, 512KB of Level 2 cache and a front-side bus speed of 400 MHz. For memory, base versions of the Evo N1000v came with 256MB of PC2100 RAM, upgradeable to a maximum of 1GB via a pair of SODIMM slots. For storage, HP outfitted standard versions of the Evo N1000v with a 20GB hard drive. HP offered 30GB and 40GB hard drives as optional upgrades. An integrated 1.44MB floppy disk drive provided additional storage.

    Display and Multimedia

    • Base versions of the Evo N1000v featured a 14.1-inch TFT XGA display screen with a native resolution of 1,024 by 768 pixels. Available upgrades included a 15.0-inch TFT XGA screen with a native resolution of 1,024 by 768 pixels and a 15.0-inch TFT SXGA screen with a native resolution of 1,400 by 1,050 pixels. The ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 video card handled graphics processing on the N1000v. The Radeon 7500 featured 32MB of DDR SDRAM. For audio, the laptop has an integrated Intel sound card that played back audio via a pair of stereo JBL speakers. Standard versions of the N1000v also featured a 24X CD-ROM drive. HP offered an 8X combination DVD-ROM and rewritable CD drive as an optional upgrade.

    Connectivity and Expansion

    • HP equipped the Evo N1000v with two methods for connecting to the Internet and local area networks. The first method was a 56Kbps fax and data modem. The second was an integrated 10/100 Ethernet card. Additional ports and connections available on the laptop included one Type II PC Card slot, one enhanced parallel port, one IEEE 1394 Firewire connection, one PS/2 port, one S-Video port, one 15-pin VGA external monitor connection, two USB ports, one infrared port, one 3.5-mm audio output and one 3.5-mm audio input.
