Click the Ubuntu icon at the top-left corner of the screen and type "Ubuntu Software" into the search box that appears at the top of the screen and press "Enter."

Type "mozilla-plugin-vlc" into the search box at the top-right corner of the Ubuntu Software Center window.

Click the "Multimedia plugin for Web browsers based on VLC" package that appears in the search results and click the "Install" button.

Type your password into the dialog that appears and press "Enter."

Close and re-open Mozilla Firefox and any other open Web browsers.
