- 1). Power down the digital DVR and leave it off for a few minutes. This resets many of the settings on the DVR. Power the hardware back up, and see if the digitizing continues.
- 2). Disconnect the cables running from the receiver to the television. Clean off the tips of the cables with a damp cloth. If the cables are dirty, the TV is not going to receive a clean video signal, causing the digitizing. Once the cables are dry, you can plug the cables back in.
- 3). Call DirecTV at 888-777-2454 if the problem is occurring and there is no weather problem. The satellite dish is probably knocked out of alignment (this is a common issue) causing the digitizing. Set up a day and time frame for a DirecTV satellite technician to stop by and realign the satellite dish.
