- 1). Plug the power lead firmly into the wall socket if no lights appear on the front of this unit.
- 2). Check the cables are connected if there's no picture. The unit must be connected to a television for video playback. Make sure that the television is turned on and that the source selected is correct. Toggle the source button until an image from the DVD appears on the television screen.
- 3). Take a look at all the audio cables and look for damage if there's no audio output. Replace the cables if they are damaged. Cables can be damaged if they are snared by other home entertainment components--particularly heavy ones. Again, the output needs to be connected to a playback device like an amplifier, which in-turn needs to be connected to speakers. Check all these connections are tight and that the source selected on the amplifier is correct.
- 4). Replace the batteries in the remote control if the remote control doesn't function as you expect it to. Verify that there's a disc inside if there's no video or audio output.
