- If your BlackBerry is deleting previous calendar appointments, your device's settings are adjusted in such a way that this action automatically takes place. Because many users have no use for old appointments, BlackBerry makes it possible to delete all old appointments after a certain number of days. On the other hand, you can also keep all appointments on your calendar indefinitely if you need them for future reference.
- If you don't want your BlackBerry to automatically delete old appointments, go to the "All" icon on your home screen and choose "Calendar." After going to the menu, choose "Options" and go to "Calendar Display and Actions." When you choose "Forever" in the "Keep Assignments" field, your calendar will stop removing old appointments. You can also choose to extend the number of days that pass before the appointments are deleted -- for instance, changing the number of days from 15 to 60 will let you keep appointments longer, but still have outdated appointments deleted automatically.
- Bear in mind that keeping all of your BlackBerry appointments will take up more memory space on your device than if you delete them. If your BlackBerry routinely experiences low battery life or limited memory problems, consider changing your settings to allow for the automatic deletion of appointments sooner than later.
- Once old calendar events are deleted from your BlackBerry, they may not be retrieved on the device. If you sync your BlackBerry with a computer program, like Microsoft Outlook, a copy of the appointment will remain there until the next time you sync your BlackBerry with your computer. Once you sync, because BlackBerry syncs all past and future appointments, the appointment deleted on the BlackBerry is also removed from the computer application.
