- 1). Place paper towels under the fabric. Apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol to the ballpoint ink stain. Blot the spot with a clean cloth. Repeat these steps until the stain is removed. Allow the area to air-dry.
- 2). Apply a small amount of liquid laundry detergent to the ink stain with a soft cloth. Gently massage the soap into the spot. Leave the detergent on the stain for at least an hour. Rinse it with cool water. Air-dry the fabric.
- 3). Apply a laundry pretreatment solution to the stain following the product directions. Allow the product to sit on the fabric for five minutes, or the length of time recommended on the product label. Launder the fabric as usual. Air-dry the item to avoid setting any remaining stain.
- 1). Sponge the area with a dry-cleaning solvent.
- 2). Blot the area with a clean, soft cloth to remove the solvent.
- 3). Repeat the process until the stain is removed.

- 2). If the stain remains, combine 1 tablespoon white vinegar, 1 tablespoon liquid dish detergent, and 2 cups warm water.
- 3). Apply the solution to the stained area with a clean, white cloth.
- 4). Blot the area with a dry cloth to absorb the liquid.
- 5). Repeat the steps until the stain is removed.
- 6). Remove the cleaning solution using cold water and a clean cloth. Blot to absorb moisture.
