- 1). Flip open the ink cartridge cover. This is on the front of the printer in the lower left corner. Don't pull too hard as the cover is plastic and it may break if too much force is applied.
- 2). Remove the black ink cartridge by placing your thumb and forefinger on both sides of the cartridge and then pull it toward you.
- 3). Replace the cartridge into the appropriate slot. Each slot is color coded and should only be placed in the designated spot. Only place the black cartridge where it belongs.
- 4). Press down firmly on the black cartridge. The cartridge needs to make contact with electrical contacts inside the device so press hard enough until you hear the cartridge click.
- 5). Close the ink cartridge cover by pressing up on the cover. You will hear a snap indicating it locked in place. Once the cartridge is replaced, the printer may undergo a cleaning process. This is normal and may take a few minutes to complete as ink is circulated through the device.
