- 1). Shut down your Toshiba Qosmio. Remove the power adapter cable from the computer, as well as any peripheral cables. Close the Qosmio lid and turn the laptop over.
- 2). Pull the battery out of the bottom of the Qosmio.
- 3). Unscrew the memory module panel cover and take that cover off. Unscrew the hard drive under the memory module. Pull the system's memory and its hard drive out of the case and set them aside.
- 4). Move to the DVD drive bay and remove the screws. Straighten a paper clip and insert it into the manual eject hole to open the drive. Pull the DVD drive out of the Qosmio.
- 5). Remove the remaining screws on the bottom of the Qosmio case. Turn the laptop back over.
- 6). Slide the straightened paperclip or a flat head screwdriver under the retaining strip that runs along the top of the keyboard. Take the strip off of the laptop. Unscrew the speaker screw located in the middle of the Qosmio. Take the cover off of the top of the laptop.
- 7). Remove the remaining two screws in the top corners of the keyboard. Pull the keyboard slightly away from the Qosmio. Take the screws out of the plate under the keyboard and remove it from the case. Disconnect the keyboard from the motherboard and remove it from the case.
- 8). Unscrew the metal plate screws in the upper right of the Qosmio. Look for the green ribbon cable and disconnect it from the system board. Unscrew the screw by this cable.
- 9). Disconnect the two screws in the middle of the Qosmio and disconnect all remaining interface cables. Push the cover up to gain access to all remaining system components.
