- 1). Log on to the laptop as an administrator. Click "Start," then click "Control Panel." Go to "System and Security," and click "Change User Account Control Settings" from beneath "Action Center."
- 2). Click "Continue," or input the administrator password into the prompt, then press "Enter." Drag the slider down to "Never Notify" to disable User Account Control completely.
- 3). Click "OK" to unblock your laptop. Click "Windows Firewall," then select "Turn Windows Firewall On or Off" from the left pane.
- 4). Click "Turn Off Windows Firewall" from "Home or Work (Private) Network Location Settings," "Public Network Location Settings" or both. Click "OK" to unblock the network.
