- 1). Remove the cap covering the lock-down screw on your bathtub faucet.
- 2). Remove the screw from the faucet slowly to prevent stripping it, then pull off the faucet covering.
- 3). Remove the collar from the faucet using a wrench.
- 4). Locate the the old O-ring and remove it from from the faucet stem.
- 5). Coat the replacement O-ring with petroleum jelly and place it where the old O-ring was sitting.
- 6). Return the collar to the stem and then place the faucet covering back into place.
- 7). Screw the faucet covering back into place, then replace the screw cap.
