- 1). download easus disk copy http://www.easeus.com/disk-copy/ and make a bootable disk from the ISO image they supply, if you don't have burner software try http://www.freeisoburner.com/ .... once done now put on your anti-static wrist strap... on the bottom of your laptop there should be panels with screws, the hard drive in under one of those panels, for mine it's near the back ports.
- 2). once unscrewed pull the hard drive away from where it is plugged into, it will easily come unplugged, and you can lift it out, if you notice the plug is nothing more then an sata power and sata cable port.
- 3). take your old harddrive to your desktop computer, make sure your computer is off open your desktop computer, and unplug the hard drive, plug in your new disk drive, and your old disk drive.
- 4). turn the computer on, make sure your bios is set to boot from cd as the first device, and it will boot into the program
- 5). select the source drives and target drives, it will end up copying everything over to your new drive.
- 6). once done put the drive back into your laptop, installation is reversed of removal.
- 7). once in and booted you will need to increase the partition you can use this for anything but Windows Vista http://www.partition-tool.com/download.htm in Windows Vista you go to control panel, then system and maintenance, in the search bar at the top, type in partition, it will come up with the built in partition tool in Vista, from there you can increase your partition to the maximum
- 8). your done!
