- 1). Click "Start."
- 2). Click inside the "Search" box, and type "msconfig" (sans quotes). When Windows searches for and locates the "MSconfig" icon, click on it to load the program.
- 3). Click "Boot." The window now on screen lets you edit the Windows boot manager. Check the boxes in the "Boot Options" section of the window to enable various boot options. You can boot without GUI, which means your computer will boot into a command prompt. You can also enable "boot log," which means that Windows will keep track of everything that happens during boot in a text file. You can also enable "OS Boot Information," which means that this boot log information will be displayed when Windows starts up.
- 4). Click "Apply." This will save your edits to the Windows boot manager. Click "OK" to close "MSconfig."
