Words can be incredibly powerful things.
They can inspire us to be more, to do more, to strive for more than we ever imagined possible.
Words can also tear down the greatest of minds, even when they come from the smallest of men.
It is important to pay attention to the words you use as well as the words others use.
I recently came upon a poem which I would like to share with you that was so incredibly inspiring to me.
"This lifetime of yours...
Does it blossom? Is it fun? Does it glow at the center like a miniature sun? Does it find it's own meaning in the great scheme of things? Is there joy in it? Beauty? Does your life have wings?" I don't know who the author of this poem is, but it is obvious that they come from a beautiful heart and soul.
It reminds me that the real joys in life don't come from the monotery things we have or buy.
It doesn't come from the job we do or the places we travel.
It doesn't come from the love of our life or any other place outside of us.
The real beauty to life.
The real joy of living comes from deep within ourselves.
The joy of life comes from what we put our energy into.
Finding a meaning for our lives that is unique.
One that fits us as well as our favorite pair of shoes.
So does this lifetime of your blossom? Is it fun? Do you take the time to enjoy the journey of life.
To experience the moment to moment travel of your life, or are you to busy worrying about this and griping about that? Do you take the time to find joy and beauty in your life, and when there is none to be seen do you take the time to find it or make your own? Have you learned to open your heart and your mind to the every day experience of life in general.
Do you have something to commit yourself to that puts you in a place of peace and happiness when you do it? Have you found a purpose that is worthy of you and your time? Have you found a place within yourself that is full of passion and expression? If you haven't I suggest you take the time to find it, because there is no greater joy in life, no greater beauty than giving yourself a purpose.
Having a purpose in life that is worthy of your time and energy is such a powerful thing.
It's what life is about.
Some people devote themselves to their children.
Others devote themselves to god and religion.
Even others make a commitment to love and passion.
So many people have already died inside because they never took the time, maybe never even knew how to find a passion and a purpose.
These people die inside and live out their lives never realizing what life is really about.
It's not the reward or the things.
It's the journey of the adventure.
It's taking the time to create something great and worthy.
Of leaving a legacy in the world that is worthy of who you are and what you represent.
It is about traveling the road that you create for yourself, about spreading your wings, and giving flight to what most would see as an ordinary average life.
They can inspire us to be more, to do more, to strive for more than we ever imagined possible.
