- 1). Quest Pex can be used for hot and cold water plumbing. It is hooked into water mains by either specialized PEX crimping tools, or regular PEX compression fittings. PEX pipe can be snaked between or over and under joists, floor beams and other piping where copper pipes couldn't go. PEX can be threaded beneath substrates or into crawl spaces, and hooked into any faucet or water main connection. It is quieter, does not break when frozen, is resistant to corrosion and will last the life of the building it has been installed into.
- 2). Use Quest Pex during new construction for sub-floor hydronic heating applications. PEX is less expensive than metal piping, and because it is flexible, a single pipe can be wound around floor joists to eliminate connections. This means less labor during the installation process, and no chance of connector failure in the future.
- 3). Use Quest Pex for commercial applications such as ice rinks, snow melting and refrigeration. Installation is faster, which equates to less labor costs. PEX can be used with 200 degree hot water systems and will handle pressure up to 150 pounds per square inch. Many sizes are available, from 1/4-inch up to 1-inch. It either comes in coils of rolled up tubing, or 20-foot straight pipes. It is environmentally friendly and it is energy efficient.
