Options When Signing up For a Free Rdio Account

If you haven't already got an Rdio account then the easiest way to get one is to sign up directly from the free Rdio app. You can of course register using Rdio's website if you prefer, but the Rdio app gives you this option anyway and so it makes sense to use this more direct route. When signing up via the Rdio app there are two options to choose from; either using your Facebook account or email address.


Whichever one you decide on, we'll show you the steps necessary to start listening to Rdio on your iPhone.

Getting the App on Your iPhone

In order to use the Rdio app, ensure you are running iOS 5 or higher and follow these steps:

1. Launch the App Store: run this by tapping your finger on the App Store icon via the iPhone's home screen.
2. Choose the Search Facility: the quickest way to get the free Rdio app is to use the search option in the App Store. Tap on the search icon (image of a magnifying glass) near the bottom of the screen.
3. Type in the Text Box: search for the Rdio app by using the text box at the top of the screen. Simply tap it once, type in Rdio, and then hit the Search button -- the app should be the first one in the list. If you're having trouble finding it, then here's the link (Rdio app for the iPhone).
4. Download and Install: get the Rdio app on your iPhone by taping on the Free button and then on Install App. You will then have to enter your Apple ID password.

The Rdio app should now be downloaded and installed.

Wait a few seconds and then tap the Open button to run it.

Signing up: Facebook or Email?

Now that you have the Rdio app on your iPhone you can choose whether to sign up using your Facebook account or email address. To begin the sign up process, launch the Rdio App If it's not already running (via the Phone's main screen) and follow the steps below:

Signing up With Your Facebook Account

1. Choosing the Facebook Method: tap the Continue button located on the Rdio app's main menu to get to the Facebook login screen.
2. Log Into Your Account: enter your Facebook security credentials in the Email / Password text boxes and then tap the Log In button.
3. Authorize Rdio: tap OK to accept the request for Rdio to receive your basic Facebook information and other specified details.

Signing up Using Your Email Address

1. Choosing the Email Method: On the Rdio app's main page, tap the Email text box and type in the email address you want to use. Hit the Sign Up button to continue.
2. Verifying Your Email Address: You should now see a message telling you to go check your mail. Go to your email and see if there is a confirmation message from Rdio (check your spam folder too). If it's there, read the email and then tap on the verification button to complete the verification process.
3. You will now be directed to Rdio's website. Seeing that you've already downloaded the Rdio App following this tutorial, just tap on the option called -- Open Link in Rdio App.
4. Enter the required information on the registration form and hit the Save button.

Finally, accept Rdio's terms of service agreement to start streaming free music to your iPhone!
