If you guys do not talk already, then there is a good chance that he really has no idea that you could possibly be interested in him.
Make an effort to strike up a conversation.
If you know that there is something you have in common, use that as a starting point.
If you know of something he has an interest in, then read up on it and learn a little about it so you can bring that up when talking to him.
This will show him that you guys have something in common and that will give you something to build on.
While you are talking, make sure you give off the right kind of body language.
You do not want to be staring off into space, or standing there with your arms crossed.
This could make him think that you do not really have an interest in what he is saying.
If you can maintain eye contact with him this will make it known that you indeed interested in what he is saying, and he may be intrigued by your ability to keep eye contact with him.
