- 1). Wipe the dehumidifier body clean with a damp cloth. Incorporate a gentle cleaning solution into the cleaning process, but avoid using harsh chemicals, such as gasoline benzene and thinner, as they damage the casing.
- 2). Remove the water container from the bottom of the unit and scrub it with a cleaning solution. Inspect it for damage, such as holes or cracks. If the container is damaged, replace or repair it.
- 3). Examine the intake and discharge ducts for blockage or dirt. Remove any visible blockage and clean the ducts with a gentle cleaning solution. Inspect the ducts for damage, such as tears or rips. If the ducts are damaged, replace or repair them.
- 1). Open the filter cover. While avoiding contact with the metal parts within the interior, remove the filter from the unit and lay it flat. Move a vacuum cleaner head against every section of the filter to remove dust and dirt.
- 2). Apply a solution of warm water and mild soap to the filter, if it's washable. Gently run the solution over the filter and rinse it off.
- 3). Dab the filter with a towel and allow the filter to dry completely before reinsertion. Inspect the filter for damage, such as large holes, rips or cuts. If the filter is damaged or not cleanable, replace it.
