Everyone loves and wants to be famous among their friends and colleagues.
Not just this, in order to be successful in any field, you should be able to speak confidently and eloquently.
But not all can do that for one reason or other--some are shy and some are overpowered by nervousness.
However, it sometimes becomes important to overcome your nervousness and give your best shot.
Speaking confidently may come naturally to some people, but to most of the people it remains a dream.
In this topic, I have made an attempt to deal with this simple yet important issue, which will make you feel confident and communicate effectively.
More often than not, shy people speak less and when they do, they speak in a low voice.
Such people may have problem expressing themselves in front of people or new surroundings.
Therefore, they need to force themselves to speak often and have conversation.
This will alleviate fear, if any, and boost their confidence.
Also, speak aloud so that other persons can hear you and not try to listen to you.
This will help you in two ways, the first is that you may not have to repeat yourself and secondly it shows you are confident.
Someone rightly said, "To err is human.
" So, it is okay to make mistakes.
Do not let the fear of mistake stop you from expressing yourself.
You need to be well-versed with the subject in hand or at least be prepared for it.
We all know that it is not really possible to be prepared all the time, especially when you are among your friends and colleagues.
However, you should have a clear idea about what you are going to talk about.
In this way, you will be less likely to fall short of ideas or fumble every now and then.
In other words, you should have clarity in your thoughts, and you would be in better position to express yourself and be understood.
Try having a debate with your friends on some topics or issues that are prepared for and you will come to know the power of preparation.
Always believe in yourself.
Before people can believe in you, you need to believe in what you say.
When you speak with conviction, it reflects in your voice and gestures.
People will believe you even if you are wrong.
Haven't we come across salesmen and telemarketers who speak with conviction about their service or product? We are forced to believe them even though they may sometime be lying--Well, they do most of the time.
No matter how confidently you speak, you will come across people who do not agree with your ideas or opinions, which is far from common.
In such a situation, do not shoot from the hip as you may give an impression of being an arrogant person.
Instead, listen to them patiently as they may have better ideas to share.
This approach will help you in the long-term.
It would be suffice to say that you do not need to be an orator or have oratorical skills to win hearts of people, you just need to be yourself and speak your mind confidently.
It is okay to get nervous, but it is important to get over it as quickly as you can.
