- 1). Set the white paper or sheet onto your work bench. Unscrew the reel's handle using the small Phillips screwdriver and remove it from the reel.
- 2). Unscrew the two retaining screws on either side of the spool assembly and pull it off the reel housing. Pinch the bait-cast bail wire off the spool and set aside. Gently pull each washer and nut off the spool assembly, setting them out on the white surface.
- 3). Unscrew the center bolt on the handle assembly at the rear of the housing. Set it aside and gently pull out the series of washers and nuts. Set them down in order on the white surface so you know the order when putting them back on.
- 4). Unscrew the thumb handle off the main handle of the reel using the flathead screwdriver.
- 5). Unscrew the body cover screw on the left hand side of the housing and gently pull out the series of washers and nuts, setting the down in order.
