Using a Web Installer

• 1). Visit the "DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer" website (see Resources).
  
  
• 2). Click on the "Download" button to download a small installer program onto your computer.
  
  
• 3). Launch the program. This program will connect to Microsoft's website to download the latest version of DirectX and install it on your computer.
  
  

Using Windows Update

• 1). Open the Windows Start Menu and click on "All Programs."
  
  
• 2). Click on the "Windows Update" shortcut to launch the application.
  
  
• 3). Scroll down the list of available updates and look for a line that says "DirectX update."
  
  
• 4). Check the check box next to the DirectX update and click "OK."
  
  
• 5). Click on the "Install" button. Windows Update will then download the update and install it on your computer.
