- 1). Ask her with flowers. One of the simplest ways to ask a flower girl is to find out her favorite color and present her with a bouquet. Explain that you are getting married, what flower girls do and that you would like her to be an important part of your wedding. Tell her it's very important role, because she prepares the way for the bride to walk down the aisle.
- 2). Send her a flower-shaped dessert. Nearly all kids enjoy sweets. Surprise her with a giant cookie shaped like a flower, which you can order at bakeries and specialty cookie shops. Have the bakery write "Be My Flower Girl" on the cookie. You can also present her with a cake that's shaped like a flower.
- 3). Present her with a card and a flower girl book in a gift bag. Give her a child-friendly card with a note asking her to be your flower girl. Include a children's book about flower girls so she can get excited and ease her fears about this important role.
Ideal books you can give her include "The Little Flower Girl" by Linda Tracey Brandon, which follows a flower girl as she prepares for the big day, and "Fiona the Flower Girl" by Carley Roney, a picture book about a little flower girl that also includes a guide for parents.
