- Make sure the power for the RCA converter box is on. You will need to treat this converter as if it was a cable or satellite receiver. Without the device being powered on, the television will not be able to receive the station broadcasts. Powering the device on can be done by either pressing the power button on the device or by pressing "Power" on the RCA converter remote.
- There are several different cables that connected the RCA converter box to the television and the antenna. If any if the connections are not correct, you will not receive your television signals and the stations will just appear black.
Make sure the the antenna's coaxial cable is connected to the RCA converter box's "In" port. If you are using the coaxial cable (the singular black cable with the thin metal pin in the middle) to connect to the television, make sure the cable is connected to the "Out" port of the converter and the "In" port of the television.
If you are using RCA cables (red, yellow and white cables), again make sure they are connected to the "Out" port of the converter and the "In" port of the television. The colors have to match as well. If the colors are inserted into the wrong port, you will not see any picture. - Do not change the channel of the television when searching for new stations to watch. If you are using the coaxial cable input in will need to be left on station "3", while the RCA connection will require you to have the television placed on "Video". To change the actual television station, you will need to use the RCA converter box's remote control. This will change the station of the box and allow you to watch the different channel.
