Adversity builds character, and sometimes it is a blessing, an edge over the others and the competition.
Why? Because you know pain, uncertainty and what it takes to stay tough and remain in a strong sense of emotion when the going gets tough.
Of course, those who must fight through an illness have to come from behind carrying a huge handicap.
Yet, this baggage they tote is also filled with character and that is what many people do not understand.
That character is real, it is has within in it; perseverance, commitment, dedication, and refusal to surrender.
Well, I ask how many other people do you know like that? Not many I bet.
Does this give you an advantage over the field? YES, because the most important thing in achievement or the road to victory is character and will.
And you got all that and more.
In fact, just think how wealthy you'd be if you could bottle it up and sell it? And think what it would be worth to those who lack strength of character.
Fact is they can't buy it and you can't sell it.
It's something you own, that nobody can take away from you.
Overcoming an illness takes a lot of strength and self-powered conviction, not everyone can do it.
But those that can, well, let's just say they can rarely hide it in their personality.
Let's face it if someone can overcome the adversity of illness, well they can do just about anything.
In fact, an illness is not the only type of personal adversity people face, there are many types, but when the going gets tough, the tough get going.
When you see a tough person, you can bet that they have been through hell to get there and they can probably go through hell again if it shows it's face.
That is why I always bet on character.
