- 1). You must have Windows Media Player installed on your computer. If you do not, go to Microsoft's website and download the latest available version (See Resources). Videos must be in .avi or .wmv format. Once the download and any necessary video file conversion is complete, continue to Step 2.
- 2). Verify that your PC Computer and XBox 360 are on and connected to the same wireless or other local area network.
- 3). Open Windows Media Player on your computer. Click on the arrow beneath the Library Tab. Select "Media Sharing." In the window that opens, check the box that says "Share My Media."
- 4). Your available media sharing devices will populate below the checked box. Select your XBox 360. Click "Allow," then click "Okay."
- 5). On your PC, locate and open the folder containing your video files. On your desktop, open "My Computer," then open the "Shared Documents" folder. Inside this folder you will see the sub-folder "Shared Videos." Drag and drop your video files into the "Shared Videos" folder.
- 6). Go to your XBox 360 Dashboard. Go to "My XBox," and scroll to "My Videos." Scroll down the list of available devices and select your computer.
- 7). A list of available videos will populate. Select the video you want to stream, and click "Play." Now you're ready to enjoy your streaming movie.
