- 1). Remove any old weather stripping from the garage door, including any staples that were used to hold it on.
- 2). Lift the garage door and measure the width of the garage door. Lay the weather strip on a clean and dry garage floor and keep it as straight as possible. Mark the measurement of the door on the weather strip and cut it to length.
- 3). Staple one end of the weather strip to the bottom of the garage door. Moving across the bottom of the door, place a staple every 3 inches, keeping the weather strip on a straight line. Trim any overlapping weather stripping from the end of the door.
