- 1). Hide the email subscriber list to avoid getting complaints from customers about having their email shared with everyone on your email blast list. Choose HTML over plain text because, according to the Small Business Administration, "response rates for HTML newsletters are generally far higher than plain text, and graphics and colors tend to make the publications look far more professional." Give your subscribers the option to opt out of HTML.

Be specific and state your purpose when writing the header of the email. Don't say "Act Now!"; instead, write "Act Now for the Best Deals on Winter Jackets!" Give your reader information on what the email has inside to avoid having it quickly deleted. - 3). Greet your reader and showcase your product. Don't use too much text. Use photos and graphics whenever possible to make the email easier to read. Avoid overloading the email blast with too many products. Choose something you're especially proud of and use that to draw in your reader.
- 4). Post links to your website or your client's website within the body of the email. Use Bit.ly to shorten long websites. Write a short blurb on what the website offers or why the client is important to promote. Be short and specific. Avoid cliches and personalize whenever possible.
- 5). Include all your necessary contact information. Use links to your website and email addresses of business contacts whenever possible. Include phone numbers and your business address if appropriate. Include the names of the contact people for the event or sale.
