- 1). Place a set of wheel chocks behind the rear wheels of the Accord. Make sure the area you are using to make this repair is level.
- 2). Use a wrench to disconnect the Accord's battery. Disconnect the negative ("-") cable from the battery.
- 3). Lift the Accord up with the car jack. Place a jack stand under the vehicle's frame, and remove the jack.
- 4). Slide under the driver's side of the car. Find the starter that is on the bottom of the engine, and use a wrench to disconnect the large cable connected to the starter. Finish disconnecting the rest of the starter wiring.
- 5). Use a socket to take out the starter's mounting bolts. Take off the starter. Take your new starter, and put it back in the place where the old starter was located.
- 6). Replace the mounting bolts with a socket wrench to secure the starter in place on the engine. Reconnect all the wiring you disconnected.
- 7). Reconnect the large cable to the starter. Slide a jack under the vehicle once again. Remove the jack stand, and lower the Accord.
- 8). Reconnect the Accord's battery with a wrench.
