How to Remove the Rear Glass From My Jeep Cherokee

    • 1). Open the rear hatch of your Jeep Cherokee, and remove the inner door panel from the vehicle. The panel has small plastic tabs that hold the panel into the sheet metal of the door. Wedge a flat-blade screwdriver between the sheet metal and the plastic panel, and work your way around the panel as you pop the tabs out of the sheet metal. Place the inner door panel off to the side, and close the rear hatch of the Jeep.

    • 2). Pull outward on the rear window wiper blade to pull it away from the glass. The blade connects to a spring that forces the blade to stay in the outward position.

    • 3). Enter the cargo area inside the Cherokee, and have a second person hold the glass from the outside.

    • 4). Wedge a flat-blade screwdriver between the window gasket and the sheet metal. Pry the gasket off with the screwdriver as you work around the window. After you have pried off several inches of gasket, pull on the gasket to remove the rest of it from the vehicle. Have your helper pull the glass away from the Cherokee once you have removed the gasket.
