- 1). Determine whether you have have a convergence problem with your Philips TV. This is a common problem with one or more of the following symptoms: the screen appears to be 3D, the colors do not align or the screen is warped or appears like a fisheye lens. If this description fits your problem, navigate to "TV Settings" and then "Convergence Settings" with your remote. Adjust the red and blue convergence by clicking the up, down, left or right arrows.
- 2). Replace the coolant and clean the CRT if you are experiencing an oval screen with lines across the screen. This is also a common problem with Philips TVs. See the Resources section for a repair kit to perform these fixes.
- 3). Make sure that the video cables are properly and securely connected from your TV to your cable box. Often a loose cable will cause problems with the picture.
- 4). Make sure that the audio cables are also properly connected from your TV to your receiver if you are having audio problems.
- 5). Perform a hard reset on the TV. If the previous steps did not solve your problem, do a hard reset. Unplug your television from the electrical outlet and leave it off for 4 hours. Then plug it back in and turn the TV back on.
