- 1). Drive the 1960 Cadillac into your garage. Do not perform this repair in the open. Place the Cadillac in "Park" and pull the emergency brake before turning it off. Empty the Cadillac out completely; take out any floor mats and even empty out the glove box.
- 2). Open the glove box and locate the Phillips head screws that secure the hinges on either side. Remove the retaining screws from the hinges, then pull the glove box lid down and out. Remove the two screws on the top of the cavity and place them somewhere safe. Open the front doors and remove the retaining screws along the edge of the dashboard, where the door panels cover them up when closed. Then remove the four screws on the front part of the dash near the windshield. Work a flat head screwdriver around the seam of the dash panel until it pops off and you can pull it off by hand.
- 3). Slide the front seats all the way back to expose the front retaining bolts. Remove each bolt with a wrench, then slide the seats off the rails. Pull the seats out of the car and place them to the side. Remove the rear bolt on the seat rails to remove them from the floor of the Cadillac. Work a flat head around the seams of the trim panels on the A, B, and C pillars. The A pillar is the front pillar, the B is the middle and the C pillar is the last pillar in the interior of the Cadillac.
- 4). Unscrew the grab handles from the headliner by each door. Use the flat head screwdriver to fold the metal trim beam off the headliner fabric all around the ceiling of the Cadillac. Do this with the doors open for the most room. Pull the headliner fabric out of place and peel if off the ceiling. It will be glued on, so you may need to take a razor to the fabric to get it off.
