DVDO Quick6 6x2 4K UltraHD HDMI Switch - Front and Rear View
Here is a look at both the front (top) and rear (bottom) views of the DVDO Quick6 HDMI Switch.
Starting with the left side of the front view, is the IR remote control sensor, followed across the middle by the Input Indicators (if an indicator is off, that means that there is no connection, if an indicator displays and amber color that means that an HDMI connection has been made, and if an indicator displays green that means that the input is active - in other words, that is the source that is currently being viewed).
Moving to the right, is the front panel Input Selection switch, following by the Power On/Off button, and Power indicator light.
Moving down to the bottom photo is the rear view of the DVDO Quick6, which shows all of the provided connections. For a closer look and explanation of each type of connection, proceed through the next three photos...
DVDO Quick6 6x2 4K UltraHD HDMI Switch - Power, USB, Serial Connections
Shown on this page is a close-up of the connections located on the left side of the rear connection panel.
From left to right is the power receptacle for the detachable power cord that, in turn, connected to the AC power adapter (both were shown in the first photo of this profile).
Just to the right of the power receptacle is the Firmware Update start button, along with a USB port that accepts a compatible storage device containing any applicable firmware update that has been copied from a PC that initially downloaded the firmware update from the DVDO website.
The USB port does not access audio, video, or still image content from USB storage devices for viewing or listening.
The next connection provided is labeled "Serial" - this is also often referred to as an RS232 port. This is provided so that the DVD Quick6 can be integrated into compatible custom home theater control systems. Check with DVDO or home theater installer for more details.

DVDO Quick6 6x2 4K UltraHD HDMI Switch - HDMI and Digital Audio Outputs
Here is a look a the connections located at the center of the rear panel.
The connections shown here are the two available HDMI outputs, along with both Digital Optical and Digital Coaxial Audio outputs.
The HDMI output is always active and is the primary output that you should use unless there is a need to make separate audio and video connection to your TV and home theater system.
The Aux HDMI output can be set, via the Quick6 menu, to output an audio/video mirror (or parallel) output of the main HDMI output to an additional TV, or can be used as a separate audio connection where the TV and Home Theater Receiver have compatibility issues.
For example, if you have a 3D TV and a non-3D enabled Home Theater Receiver, or a 4K TV and non-4K enabled Home Theater Receiver.
By the same token, the Digital Optical or Digital Coaxial audio outputs can be used if your TV has HDMI connections, but your home theater receiver does not. However, keep in mind that the Digital Optical/Coaxial connections are limited to standard Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound formats and two-channel PCM - they do not accept Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, or 5.1/7.1 PCM audio streams.

DVDO Quick6 6x2 4K UltraHD HDMI Switch - HDMI Inputs
Here is a close-up look at the HDMI inputs provided on the DVDO Quick6, which are located on the right side of the rear panel.
There a total of 6 HDMI inputs provided. Inputs 1 and 6 are MHL-enabled. This means that these inputs allow the connection of MHL-compatible source devices, enabling audio, video, and still image content from those devices to viewed on an HDTV, Video Projector, or heard on a home theater audio system.
These ports also allow charging for MHL portable devices. It must be noted that these inputs also accommodate non-MHL source devices, if the MHL-feature is not required by the user. 3D and up to 1080p resolution sources can be accommodated.
HDMI 2 through 6 are standard HDMI inputs (you cannot use them for MHL sources), with compatibility for resolutions up to 4K, and are also 3D compatible.

DVDO Quick6 6x2 4K UltraHD HDMI Switch - Remote Control
Here is a look at the remote control provided with the DVDO Quick6 HDMI switch.
Starting on the top row are A,B,C function buttons and the Power On/Off buttons.
Moving down, the next group of buttons are provided for menu access and navigation.
Just below the menu access and navigation buttons are the PIP (Picture-in-Picture), SWAP, and ARC controls.
PIP allows the display of two active HDMI sources on a TV or video projection screen at once (PIP does not have be a feature on the TV itself).
One image will larger and the other will be smaller.
SWAP switches the PIP and main image.
ARC activates the Audio Return Channel feature.
Moving down is the InstaPrevue button. A more detailed look and explanation of the InstaPrevue feature is presented in next photo.
The last buttons of note on the remote are the Z1 and Z2 buttons. These Z1 button cycles the HDMI inputs in accordance with the HDMI outputs. If using mirror mode, both HDMI outputs display the same selection. The Z2 button is provided for future use with additional DVDO products and is not currently applied the functionality of the Quick6.

Shown on this page is a photo of the InstaPrevue display.
InstaPrevue is similar to PIP, but instead of displaying one image in addition to the main image, this feature displays images of all the active HDMI input sources. To swap any of the small images with the main image, all you have to do is scroll to the image you want - as you scroll through the selections, each image offsets to let you know which one you can choose to replace the main image.
Once you have decided which input to select, press Enter on the remote. Once you have made your selection, just press Exit or InstaPrevue again, and the preview images disappear until you need to access them again.

Here is a look at the System Setup Menu provided for the DVDO Quick6 HDMI switch. Each category navigates to a sub-menu with selections for that category.
Going down the list...
Change Input: Same as input selection buttons on the remote control - cycles through the available HDMI inputs.
Auto Input Select: Enables the user to allow the DVDO Quick 6 to automatically select the newest active HDMI input, or, the user prefers, to enable only manual input selectioon.
Output Setup: Allows configuration of the two HDMI outputs. The options are:
Mirror Mode - Both HDMI output provide the same audio and video signal to two TVs and home theater systems). It is important note that if outputing to two TVs that the if the TVs have different native display resolution, the video resolution output from both HDMI outputs will conform to the TV with the lowest resolution. For example, if you are sending the signal to both 720p and 1080p TVs - the output resolution from both HDMI outputs will be 720p. By the same token, if you are connected to both a 1080p and 4K UltraHD TV, the maximum output resolution from the Quick6 would be 1080p.
A similar situation is applied to audio. If one TV only has PCM audio input capability, but the other TV has both Dolby Digital or PCM audio input capability, then only PCM audio will be sent to both TVs.
AVR via HDMI - This setting allows you to send the video from using the main HDMI output to a TV and the audio feed to a Home Theater receiver using the Aux HDMI output.
This is used in cases of user preference, or if their are video compatibility issues between the TV and Home Theater Receiver.
AVR via S/PDIF - Just as in the previous option, you can send the video signal to the TV using the main HDMI output, but instead of using HDMI (either main or Aux) to send audio to a home theater receiver, this setting allows the use of either the Digital Optical or Digital Coaxial audio output to send audio to a home theater receiver. This option is very practical if the Home Theater Receiver does not have HDMI input and output connections, but provides digital audio connection capability. However, although Dolby and DTS bitstreams can be accessed, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio lossless audio formats cannot be as they are only accessible via HDMI connection.
InstaPrevue Setup: The options here provide where to place the prevue thumbnail images on the screen (vertically on the left or right side, or horizontally along the top or bottom of the image). Input naming allows users to associate names that can be displayed with each thumbnail image (such as Blu-ray or DVD, Cable or Satellite). When activating the Input Naming feature, an alphanumeric keyboard is displayed on the screen. After naming each input, if you choose the Activate Names option, the names will be displayed along with the thumbnail images on the screen.
Information Menu: This menu displays all the information about the specific DVDO Quick6 unit in use, such as Product Name, Firmware Version, Video resolution from the currently active input, which input is currently active, Output mode, Switch function, and active Audio format.
Advanced Settings: The menu provides additional functions, such as enabling the CEC function, ARC (Audio Return Channel), Firmware loading, factory default settings, EDID mode, and HDMI6 power (this allows non-MHL portable devices to be charged only or on HDMI input6).
